NEP opens extraordinary broadcast datacenter at the Media Park.
NEP has completed the build and set up of its new datacenter at the Mediapark. It is not only provided with the usual IT and storage equipment, but is also suitable for broadcast installations. A 700 m2 large area offers space to over three hundred 19” racks.
NEP’s services in the Netherlands are facilitated from its own modern datacenters, who are the centre of the media technology company. The entire service runs on technology and equipment centralized in the datacenter, which make Centralized Production, post production, Augmented Reality, OTT content distribution and playout services possible. The success of these services and the desire to play a bigger part in terms of streaming and Centralized Production, generated a growing need for additional capability in NEP’s datacenter.
Hundred percent uptime
Bakker: “We have taken into account all possible risks which need to be covered automatically by the technical installations. For example, the new connection to the 10 kV high-voltage network in the Netherlands with a capacity of almost 3 Megawatt and the redundant emergency power and cooling installations from NEP itself. As we cannot afford an outage, we therefore pursuit hundred percent uptime. We do not rely on singular conducted equipment anywhere in the chain. We are actually building a datacenter which cannot be broken.”
Furnishing the datacenter takes place in different phases, whereby eventually more than three hundred 19” racks will be installed. The new racks will be installed next to the more than three hundred racks which NEP is already using for her national and international managed services in the Netherlands
